Keith,

That was my old boss, before I bought him out, Gary Watson of CEC (Cinema Entertainment Company), we went for this and "Rock A Doodle", but our timing was lousey, as a certain W. Midlands dealer got a certain Disney deal at the same time, and that virtually killed our feature releases, it's a nice print though, it was printed at Rank labs of their exsisting 16mm inter-neg.

Thanks Barry. You are absolutely right about the print quality (damn good film too). I haven't seen many around. Was it a low print run?

Dear Keith,

Yes I think we did about 10-12 initially (although I did see it re-printed at least once by that certain W.Midlands dealer), but I doubt there was more than 20 ever produced, shame really, as you say, a really good film. (We had planned to bring out "Carry on Henry", but poor sales of the 1st 2 titles scuppered that).

Hi Barry, I have just had a look at the label on one of the boxes, which is very faded and yes I can just make out Cinema Entertainment Company on there. So this print must be one of your original 10/12.

Hi Keith

I had one of these prints and as you say the quality is outstanding, if my memory serves me right I got mine from Barry.

Hello folks,

I also have a print of this title in my collection. I bought it used from Paul Fosters list for many years. It is one of the best prints I' ve seen, sharp and nice colours. My came also in the original box with the CEC label.

To bad that CEC only released this two titels [Confused] [Confused]

Ralf,

More was planned, but it was the time most collectors got the "Disney" bug, and Gary actually lost money on the features he brought out.

Barry,

what titels was planned???

I think the problem with the new releases is that you have to find enough collectors to by a title.

Ralf,

The only one we really talked about was "Carry on Henry", and possibly if it sold well, perhaps "Carry on Dick", but that was as far as we took it.

Don't forget CEC did a load of trailer releases and other shorts - Rank Look at Life's for a start.

I only ever got reel 1 of FX from Barry when he was a mere employee (prior to his progression into film distribution mogul) but I still run it quite often. A darned fine print.

One of the best trailers that CEC done was Father Of The Bride.

I think their best was the Patriot Games, Freejack, Grand Canyon trailer reel in 'Scope.
