Hi all,

I just got an old Derann catalogue, well, it seems from 1994 since the Diney's Baauty and the Beast was in the front cover.

What is surprising me that in an its advertisement Derann says "..for hiring...contact our library".

So did Derann still in hiring film business in 1994? What about now?

When they stopped their rental business?

cheers,

They re-entered the renting game around the late 80's early 90's and kept it on for quite a few years. Don't know exactly when it stopped though.

John,

Can you tell me in the 1990s how much they were asking for us hiring a full feature such as Alladin or Beauty and the beast?

just my curiousity

thanks,

I can if I ever find the hire catalogue. I think it was between £12 and £20 dependent on the film running time but don't take this as gospel.

I seem to remember paying around £10-12 we hired a few on and off especially enjoyed silence of the lambs, great stuff.
Its a shame derann couldnt have kept a hire core of the 20 best hiring titles as would be good for any newbies ( or skinties like myself) to be able to easily afford and enjoy and see what you can get from super 8.
Best Mark.

But if you damaged a film further by adding another deep scratch along the entire length of the film or worse, would Derann notice and charge you?

And did Derann serve people who hire film via Mail? (far from their office)

just curious,
