No wonder, it had a blown 12v 100w lamp (A1/231 EFP) in it when a label alongside it exhorts "Replace with same type (EFR) or 150w 15v lamp." A replacement with an A1/232 lamp and away we go!

But, here's the but, the original Instruction Book (Sound-700/500) says that a 12v 100w should be used. After examining both book and projector it's almost as if they do not refer to the same thing.

Auto/manual knob. becomes..Tone knob
Tone knob.......... becomes.. Double record knob
Mixing knob........ becomes...Vol/balance knob
Volume knob....... becomes...Track selector knob
f1.4 zoom lens.... becomes...f1.3 zoom lens
600'spool cap..... becomes...800' spool capacity

The AUTO/MAN on the projector is a slide switch to the left of the sound meter.

Can anyone tell me if there is an updated instruction book for my projector, and as it can switch between "track 1/both tracks/track 2" can it output stereo through one of its many sockets?

Sounds like you've got either a 702 or an 800. does it have 1 or 2 speaker outlets on the back?

Does it have the model number on the back on the manufacturing label. Mikes probably right does sound like a 702 or 800. " speakers will clinch it as an 800.

Mike. You are right. The badge at the back says it's a 702, but as Mark says perhaps Sankyo put the wrong side cover on. It only has one internal speaker (unlike my 800 which has two.) There is only one din socket for a speaker on the front panel.

The original box says it's a 700. Perhaps a previous owner had a 700 and a 702, got the side covers wrong, and then put them in the wrong boxes. Seems unlikely though.

So, does anyone an instruction book for an 702? And will it output stereo through one of its line sockets?

Unfortunately, although the 702 is a twin track model, I don't believe it's possible to get a stereo out put from it. I had a 702 and I'm sure I tried!

I might have the instruction book still, I'll have a look and if I do I'll get it scanned. Can't remember seeing it around for a while though...

The 702 should really be a 600ft capacity model, but it was possible to fit the rear guide from an 800 and up it to 800ft capacity, sounds as though this has happened to yours.

I've just discovered it is the wrong box! The serial number on the box does not match the number on the projector plate. But it still doesn't explain the side cover with its "Sankyo Sound-700" logo.

If you can find your book I sure would appreciate some details of the various sockets which are a five-pin DIN and other 3.5mm jacks.

I'm afraid I don't seem to have the manual for the 702 any more, it must have gone with the projector.

However, I've just checked the manuals section on here and the manual for the Sankyo 800 is there for down loading (I sent it in some time ago), obviously there will be differences as the 800 is a stereo model, but it might help...

I have a Sankyo 800 in my collection, so have the instructions.

Phil Johnson of Texas City was advertising on his web site a Sankyo 702 for $899, this was stated as having 2 tracks so I e-mailed him to ask about stereo reproduction.

He replied that "both tracks are combined to a mono output only."

I see that Oldtimers Cameras have an instuction book for the 502/702 so I may buy a copy from them.
