Hi all german folks,
The above three titles are very well known to have faded prints. I think this was caused by the negatives instead of fading due to the age (similar to "Sound of Music" from Ken)
Folowing Andreas' respon to my earlier post, he mention about these three titles printed by Picollo who always used different negatives.
My question, can we find the above titles unfaded (glorius colour) in germany?
thanks,

My print of "Navarone" is not faded (and it's letterboxed).

Winbert,
I've had a couple of prints of "Naverone" recently with no fading, they both came in the clamshell packaging, and were really excellent. So look out for Columbia titles in Clamshell boxes as these were some of the last re-prints, and are usually still very good in colour.

Barry and JM thanks for the info.
I've seen two Navarone's packaging in cardboard, i.e. one in Columbia yellow generic box and the other is with an artwork cover (picturing the squad). What does the clamshell's artworks look like?
Now, what about the other two, Lawrene and Kwai, have you seen the unfaded prints in English.
thanks,

Winbert,
The artwork is the same as the cardboard versions, just placed in the middle of the clamshell box, I personally have not come accross the other 2 titles yet with clamshell packaging, but I would imagine they are out there, and if they are then you have a better chance of an unfaded print, as all clamshell releases were later printed releases.
