Greetings,
I've just noticed some tiny black dots (some of them look more like very little strings) on the viewer of my Canon 1014 XL-S. They are not noticeable unless you point the camera to a lighbulb or something like that. Do you think they could be fungi? I've heard a lot about them, but never got to deal with them. I'm afraid I'll have to get the camera to some specialist unless someone tells me no to...

Thanks in advance
Pedro Muñoz García

Hola Pedro,
It's probably not fungus but just dust on the viewfinder glass, it's like that on my Krasnogorsk-3 camera. It can't be on the lens, since it wouldn't be visible (out of focus). If I'm right (I'm pretty sure, those little "strings" were on my K3 viewfinder too), you don't have to worry, as it will only appear on the viewfinder and not on the film, and you can probably clean it somehow.

Thanks a lot Alessandro!
You are right! They appear perfectly focused, so they might be in the viewfinder.

Best regards,
