What kind of bulb do I need for a newly acquired Eumig Mark S802 projector?
I know it's 12 volt/75 watts, but what's the ANSI code?
I was looking at topbulb.com but there are several that seem
like they COULD be right, EFN, EYC, EYF, EYJ. Any ideas?

Hello Stephen.
According to the instruction book the lamp is an A1/231 12Volt 100Watt EFP.

Negative... the correct lamp is an A1/230 12V 75W, also known as an EFN, EYF or EYC as far as I can determine (they're all the same).

Sorry Jan, maybe I can not read correctly, but the instruction book plainly states:-
Required Lamp: 12 volt, 100 watt tungsten-halogen with diathermic reflector, order No 931.004/6

I think there are two types which might be the confusion:

Eumig Mark S 802 D which is 100w 12v
Eumig Mark S 802 which is 75w 12v

You are quite correct Sam.
There are two models, but my instruction book states that the 12 volt 100 watt lamp is used in both the S802, or the S802D.
Apparently there is a 75 watt bulb that fits this projector, but it is not the lamp recommended by Eumig

Hmm..
The projector I have says right on the back that the bulb is "max. 75watt 12 volt." That's where I got the info originally. But I didn't have the ANSI code....

I appreciate everyone's help.

How can the EFN, EYF or EYC bulbs be the same? They seem to have different prices...

EFN has a Base Type GZ6.35and a Color Temp of 3400K
EYF has a Base Type GX5.3 and a Color Temp of 3050K
EYC has a Base Type GX5.3 and a Color Temp of 3050K

Any more ideas or actual experiences with this projector and bulb(s)?

Did they upgrade the lamp during the model run? I think I have owned models of the S 802 that have had both installed. I always replaced the lamp specified on the lamphouse or instructions.

In the late 1970's almost every quality projector was at 100w so perhaps they moved up to this lamp and added a slightly different power supply?

Hmm. All of you seem to be right... this is a bit of a mystery it seems. The reason I was saying go for the 12V/75W bulb was just in case the transformer in your particular Eumig machine can't handle 100W and might burn out from prolonged use with a 100W bulb. So while I certainly don't think Hugh can't read [Roll Eyes]

the question remains, do you wanna stick with an EFN bulb or go for the EFP one? The safest way to answer this would be to simply look at any stickers on the back or inside the machine (near the lamp holder) that say "12V/100W" or "12V/75W" and just go by that...

Eumig projectors have a label on back cover (bottom, right).
There they state Projector Type and voltage and bulb data: e.g.
220/250 ~ 50Hz, 175 Watt Pr. Lampe max. 100W 12V

Pr. Lampe = projection bulb

Look at the label. It should be 12v 100W max. for Eumig Mark S 802, too

I think David is right- early models of the S802 used the 75 watt bulb, later models use the 100 watt bulb. My 802 and 820 both use the 100 watt bulb. But if the projector has a lable saying 75 watt bulb, it means the transformer is sized for 75 watts NOT 100 watts.
