Hi,
I'm hoping once again to tap into this forum's knowledge.
I've successfully used my Eumig S802D for Super8 Sound film.
I now have some Regular/Standard-8 that is supposed to have sound. It has a soundstripe (copper-colored strip) on the pinfeed side of the film but it does not produce sound.
Is the S802D not designed for Standard-8 Sound ?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
I transfer film to DVD for families. The customer assures me that this film has sound. He made the film and added the sound himself !
Thanks in advance.

Hi Pasquale,
The S802D has a black switch under the projector lamp. Just switch that over to the side that doesn't have an "S" on it.
Depending on the model, there will be either an "R" on that side of the switch or nothing. That will switch the Standard 8 sound head on.
The worst case scenario is that the Standard 8 sound head is worn out and won't play audio, as this is the first of the heads to wear out, hence why the Super 8 sound head can still sound fine.
Hope that helps.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the quick response !
I do not see the switch you mention but I may have described the model incorrectly. My Eumig actually says:
Eumig MARK S 802 SUPER/SINGLE
There is not a "D".
I am correcting the Post title.
Does this mean my model does not handle sound for regular 8mm or is there a different adjustment ?
Thanks again.

Unfortunately your projector cannot play standard 8 films. It will only play Super 8 and Single 8, which is the same as Super 8 except that it's a Fuji stock with a different camera cartridge for filming.
Playing a Standard 8 film on your machine will damage it.
You need a Eumig Sound Dual 8 model with the "D" designation.

Thanks so much !
You've saved me from spending a few hours trying to get this machine to do something it can't.
I will look for the "D" model.
Are there any other Brands/Models that can handle Regular-8 Sound ?
Thanks again.

Look for the following Eumig sound projectors.
Mark S-709. 807D. 810D.
All these have parts to show Super 8 and Standard (Regular) 8. Do not buy a projector without first seeing it as the parts are kept in the side cover, i.e. two sprockets, gate, and Super 8 spool adaptor. You will need a Super 8 spool on the take-up as it only has a Super 8 spindle.
Sometimes these parts are missing!
