Got a Derann print of Gone with the Wind a while back.
Nice print, more than happy with it..except one problem,
the sound is off sync on one of the reels.
I don't have any editing equipment, especially not sound editing.
Does Derann or anyone service/repair prints/reels?
Any suggestions on repairing? re-syncing print?
any help appreciated.
I have been so impressed by 8mm Forum. Great site!
anyways,

Hi Neil,
Derann can re-record this if
1) The original leaders are still in place
2) They still have the master audio recordings on hand.
If you e-mail Gary B. he'll tell you what is possible.
There are people on this Forum who are capable of re-recording tracks from DVD audio. The only catch here is that one reel may start to sound too good compared to the rest of them!

Yep Neil, Gary is very good at this sort O thing ...
Though it can rather difficult to get Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable
back in the studio to do the re-record. They're rather hard to get in the studio these days for anything

Frankly Osi,
I don't give a "dam"!

(Well, maybe I do a little!)

Thanks, I will email Gary, and see if it would be possible to get this reel sync'd.
I was loving the print, really impressed with the quality of color and sharpness...until reel 7 was out of sync. The print does seem to have original leaders, although there is a splice just as the leader ends and the film starts
