Sorry not to put this on 16mm forum (since I belong more to 8mm) although I put cross posting over there.
I have just seen once of 16mm print that was actually taken from 8mm digest.
See this auction:

Are there a lot like this?
It will be interesting if we can have digest on 16mm, so will not take too much space for storing the reels.
I thought 16mm was only for complete feature or educational footage.
cheers,

Many, if not all, of the Castle/Universal 8 digests were also available on 16mm.
Get hold of a copy of Scott McGillivray's excellent book on Castle Films for all the info you need.

A couple of months ago, Derann had the 16mm digest for Spielberg's "Duel" for sale...

Winbert,
As Michael said, all of Castle Films releases were available in 16mm. While Universal 8 didn't put out their entire catalog on 16mm, the majority of titles were sold in both formats, including the two 3-D releases. Unfortunately, the colorful Super 8mm plastic cases were mostly replaced by generic boxes.

So guys,
Did you say that we can get "Blues Brothers", "1941", "Jaws" (all from Universal 8, 2 x 400") on 16mm?
Really?
If yes, what do you think about the price? is doubled or tripled from normal 8mm's price?
Anby other company making digest on 16mm apart from Castle/Universal?
cheers,

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Universal 8 continued releasing certain films in both 16mm and Super 8 till mid 1979. At that point it was mostly their 17 minute classic horrors, B&W comedies and a few of the musical digests (Sweet Charity, Flower Drum Song). As far as I know, by the time the 2x400's came out, U-8 was only dealing in Super 8mm.
According to their catalogs, Columbia & Ken never released their digests in 16mm.
