Hello guys, does anybody know if Adrian Lyne's FLASHDANCE has ever been released on super 8? Thanks a lot for all info!

I think I have seen a optical super 8mm print of Flashdance.

Hi Osi and thanks a lot for your reply. At least I know it probably exists. Hope to find it! Thanks once more!

Gian-

I only know of the trailer for "Flashdance". It was released on super 8 by Jeff Films. It is on low-fade stock and still looks brand-new, with beautiful colors.

Osi,

are you sure you don't confuse "Flashdance" with "Footloose"? I have never heard of "Flashdance", but optical sound prints of "Footloose" were distributed via Famous Films.
By the way: There was a German trailer of "Flashdance" available as well on super 8.

You could be right Eberhard!

Hi. Thank you all, guys. I knew about FOOTLOOSE (optical sound), but I am now a little confused about FLASHDANCE, even if I'm quite sure it has never been released in super 8. Well, I hope to find the trailer at least. Thanks once more.

Just remembered something-

There is a great "Flashdance" scene available on SUPER-8.

The scene where Jennifer Beals (& her body double) perform for the judges in the climax of the movie. The scene starts when Ms. Beals starts the record, "What a Feeling", and then the entire performance is shown.

The movie is called "That's Dancing", and is currently available from Derann Films. This particular scene is on REEL #5 . "That's Dancing" is one of the few features available from Derann that can be purchased 'by the reel', which means you would only have to purchase reel #5 (400 foot). The quality is very good on this movie. This particular reel also has a neat long clip of Michael Jackson's famous video for the song "Beat It", among others. A very entertaining reel.

James.

James, is that the long clip of "Beat it" from start to the end?

Winburt-

In reference to the "Beat It" video- unfortunately, its not the whole music video. If I remember correctly, its about the last one or two minutes. Too bad, because it really looks good up on the super 8 screen. I would have loved to have seen this as a release by itself. The choriography is so good, and there's so much energy in the video. "Billy Jean" would have been a good one too.

James.

Sorry a bit off topic now...

If between all MJ clips then I'll choose "Thriller" as the choreographic is monumental to date. It's still been using around the party & communities. Even the latest movie "13 Going on 30" performs that dance. You can see the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO0810JIF4Q

And inmates in the Philippines do together here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMnk7lh9M3o [Wink]

And an Indian movie ..... he..he... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbvP7dT3Dx0 [Wink]

The original "Thriller" clip is 13 minutes, quite fit in 400" reel. But I never heard a company released it in Super 8mm. [Mad]

cheers,
