Hi!
This is my first posting on this forum.
I have the last year beginning to collect Walt Disney shorts on super 8.
Now I am wondering if someone could provide me with a complete list of Disney shorts in color and sound released on super 8. I have found a list for Disney feature extracts on this forum, but is a similar list for shorts also available here or somewhere on the web?
Posted by Jeroen van Ooijen (Member # 1104) on May 11, 2009, 04:44 AM:

Hello Daniel and welcome to the forum. I'll do my best to help you. Disney's excerpts produced by WALT DISNEY HOME MOVIES in USA were released in other contries translating the same titles and, of course, dubbed (e.g: WALT DISNEY CINEMA A DOMICILE - France - ; WALT DISNEY CINECASA - Italy - ; PICCOLO - Germany).
I own and collect both Italian and original versions, so I will supply the list of titles you should need.
Consider that these excerpts were available on standard and super 8 format, b/w or colour, 50 or 200 feet, silent or sound and the price depended on the version supplied. Of course the most expensive was the 200 feet colour/sound one. The artwork on the box for each title was the same and did not depend on the version supplied (50 feet b/w silent had same artwork than 200 feet, colour and sound).
Here's the COMPLETE list from Disney's classics released by WALT DISNEY HOME MOVIES:
SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS
Wistle While You Work
The Dwarfs' Dilemma
PINOCCHIO
Pinocchio Comes to Life
Monstro the Whale

Hi Jean-Marc, you are right. I did not know a similar list was already available on the forum. I was working on another one that is more or less the same you have posted. Daniel will be actually happy with all info supplied.

Thank you all for the answers. As for Gian Luca Mario Loncrini who have made a fine list of extracts (altough I didn´t directly need that) may if he wants make a simmilar list of shorts, but for my sake he do not need to provide all the shorts from other countries like the german or italian versions. The Walt Disney Home Movies are what intrests me the most and are in color and sound full lenght 200 feet versions.
Posted by Winbert Hutahaean (Member # 58) on May 12, 2009, 12:48 AM:
When we go to 200" Color/Sound for the most common ones like gian mentioned above, our memory will serve well.
But when we go to the latest Disney Home Movies (non-Derann), which I believe were released at the end of 8mm heyday, then it will be tough one.
Below is for example Disney Home Movies which do not come quite often on Ebay (look to the artworks they are nicer than the previous release ones)
or
I also love to have complete Disney list (non Derann, non-Italy or German prints)
Doug, don't forget to index this thread (and also the other Disney list thread)
cheers,

Actually the the "Clown of the Jungel" film on the picture is now in my collection . Bought it from E-bay last week. One of the best shorts in my oppinion and still has quite good colors.
Posted by Winbert Hutahaean (Member # 58) on May 12, 2009, 04:21 AM:
Yes Daniel, I took the picture from that seller (who sold a lot of his (late) father's collection).
I have found that there are some of this type of artwork from Walt Disney which don't come quite often. Beside there are also three or four artwork with pink square like "the Old Mill" which I don't recall their titles.
May I know what stock is used for this latest release? any hope that they are on Kodak LPP or Fuji?
Gian, I'd like to see what sort of artwork for 4 Disneys you mentioned as rare. To be honest that this is my first time to hear such titles (unless that German or Italian prints):
THE SWORD IN THE STONE
A Most Befuddling Thing (very rare)
SONG OF THE SOUTH
Brer Rabbit's Laughing Place (extremely rare)
SALUDOS AMIGOS
Pedro the Mail Plane (extremely rare)
THE THREE CABALLEROS
The Flying Burro (extremely rare)
cheers,

Daniel, here's a list of Disney's one-reeler shorts released by Walt Disney Home Movies USA (200 feet, colour/sound). Guys, just add the ones I could have omitted:
- Hockey Homicide
- Mickey’s Trailer
- Pluto’s Party
- The Ugly Duckling
- The Art of Skying
- Soup’s On
- The Old Mill
- How To Swim
- How To Fish
- The Band Concert
- Legend of Coyote Rock
- Clown of the Jungle
- Tiger Trouble
- Moving Day
- Two-Gun Goofy
- Pluto’s Christmas Tree
- Pluto and the Armadillo
- Mickey’s Grand Opera
- Donald and the Gorilla
- Little Hiawatha
- Clock Cleaners
- Trick or Treat
- Boat Builders
- Three For Breakfast
- Motormania
- Three Little Pigs
- Steamboat Willy (b/w)
- Havaiian Holiday
- Trailer Horn
- Bone Trouble
- Flowers and Trees
- Thru the Mirror
- On Ice
- Mickey Mouse Disco
Most of them are very good prints and you could be lucky and still find them in good/perfect condition (but consider also that some of them could be fade: they were printed 25/30 years ago more or less, and not always using the same stock). They are pretty rare, compared to the 'classics' excerpts listed above: video tape era was coming and not a huge quantity of copies were of course released 'cause of the low demand and interest.
Don't forget anyway, as Jeroen and Jean-Marc have suggested, that Derann can actually supply most of these shorts in excellent quality.
Winbert, here's the artworks for those four rare excerpts:
These are the artworks for the ORIGINAL AMERICAN prints, not Italian or German.
