First, a quick hello to everyone as this is my first post on this forum [Big Grin]

I've bought a sankyo xl 40S at the french equivalent of a car boot sale last week end.
It's in perfect shape and comes with its case of microphones, the motor runs fine but I don't think the auto exposure system is responding : I can't see any needle moving between the T-stops at the bottom of the viewfinder and because I don't have the manual I don't know if that's normal.

If have a cosina weekend silent super8 and on this camera there's a separate battery for the built-in light meter. But I can't see any on the sankyo, other than the 6x1.5V batteries for the motor..

If anyone as the manual for this camera please PM me
thanks.

Hi Clement, welcome to the forum. Have you checked the exposure control dial (on the back side o the camera) is set to auto or manual? It will not work if set to 'lock'. E-mail me at:
gch entertainment (at) bt internet (dot) com (no spaces) and I'll get the instruction manual to you. You've got a great, very robust camera there, the only problem I can find is no single frame facility.
