Again bear with me guys I'm new to all this.Is there a difference between Reg 8 and 8mm and if so what's the difference? Also do all Super 8 movies have sound or are there some silent Super 8 movies out there?

Hi, Luis,

I believe regular 8 is another phrase for 8mm or standard 8mm. Std 8mm films are mostly silent, but there are some magnetic sound prints out there. Super 8 also comes in silent or magnetic and optical sound versions. You cannot play standard 8mm in a super 8 projector and visa versa. Hope this helps.

UNLESS .. of course, your projector is a dual 8mm projector, playing both standard 8mm and Super 8mm.

Luis,

This web page should help. Just scroll down to the heading "Here is the difference between 8mm and super-8 film."
