What's the answer to a slow running 807D? Been in it's box for years...just taken it out, but it's slow.

Switch it on,including lamp and run it for about an hour.That will cure it.

After trying the machine with the lamp on, it seems to run fine in reverse. Runs at only 18 fps (maybe even less than this) in forward. Tried cleaning the drive discs slightly with lighter fluid. Any more ideas?
UPDATE; used some sandpaper on both discs and the machine now runs much, much better, but still can't get the 24fps quite fast enough! Will now give the discs one more go with the sandpaper and then clean with lighter fluid.

Also do some re-lube, especially the wormgears. Old grease tends to get sticky and make motion harder rather than easier.

Hi Simon
I would try applying graphite grease to the intermittant mechanism as it is the source of a lot of friction and will slow the projector down if not lubed thoroughly. Apply with a wooden skewer and carefully paint it onto the cam and claw peg groove.
That should restore your normal running speed if the drive plates are dry and the shutter shaft bushes are oiled with a drop of machine oil to them.
