Have been looking at a Braun Visacustic on ebay & need advice from members that have any experience with these. Are these an especially good projector & worth chasing? I have never seen one before & it looks a bit like a double decker bus. Is the sound anything special on these projectors? I read that it can be run at 25fps. Are members familiar with any features that this has? What does Visacustic mean anyway? Hope some one can enlighten me soon.

I have the Visacustic 1000 and the Visacustic 2000.
Both good stereo projectors with a 15V 150W lamp.
The Visacustic 2000 has a Schneider Xenovaron 1.1 11-30 lens.

But you have to check the cogwheel.
It very often has little cracks (which you can hardly see) which makes the projector run unsteady.
Wittner sells new cogwheels, but the best cogwheels are made by Jelle v/d Does.
The silver/black one is made by Jelle v/d Does.

The seperate speakers that came with the Visacustics are poor, but you can always connect the projector to your amplifier.

thanks for the opinions on the Braun to Colin & Hans ,,,,
Hmmmmmm
I am thinking I will give it a miss. The asking bid seems high for a super 8 sound compared with the European Ebay ones.
However, the speed capability of the Projector is interesting. Less than 16.66 as well as 18, & 24 plus 25fps as well.
Can anyone tell me what these speeds can be used for?
I think 25 fps is Ok for copying sound movies with a digital movie camera but what is the significance of the 16.5?
Perhaps thats good for Silent film copying.
Who knows why the maker provided these particular speeds?
I cant recall them on other Super 8 Sound Projectors.
