Oh, no... THE ROSE is a much more rarer find!

Thanks so much everyone!
John A, great to see what looks like a DVD version out there; although I'm not sure I could take much more than the 16 minute version
Jean-Marc, a 3 x 400ft version - WOW! And what great box covers
John C, remember reading your review of this in Film for the Collector; that and remembering the gory cover from my local film shop when I was a kid prompted me into parting with my hard earned Ģ4 at Blackpool . Thankfully I did, it's a gem! Full of truly Ed Wood worthy dialogue..."all we need to do is block up those windows with some ply board.....now where can I find some ply board???". Genious
Winbert, The Rose may be rarer and, in fairness probably more scarey!!!
Doug, thank you SO much! Just going to stick it to the front of the plain white box!
Thanks again all

Rob-
SQUIRM was one of my all-time horror favorites (see review section).
Had I known about the 3-part digest available in Germany back in the 70's, I would have LEARNED the German language, just so I could order it somehow (things were so much harder before the internet). I was borderline "obsessed" with this movie! (o.k.- now you all know how wierd I really am).
James.

I agree this is a classic digest of the so bad its good variety!!
I still have a great condition copy in its original box,I used to play this to death as a kid as I was too young to see the original X rated release @ the cinema.
I like the full length version too,the region 1 release on MGM is really worth checking out as its the longer R rated version and not the PG edit released to drive in's in the USA.
Makes a great double bill with THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN!!

In the end of the 90īs I get an offer for a full lenght reversal print of this title. I watched it only once and didnīt bought it. It was a big mistake, I never saw it again for sale.

The German 3x400 is currently on Ebay/Germany. From what I can see, though, they don't ship to the States, but perhaps an email to the seller can convince? FYI.

Mark, do you mean 'The Incredible Melting Man'? Now that one's another classic of the so bad it's brilliant kind. My brother and I used to call it 'The Incredible Melting Pizza' as the poor chap looked more like a large deep-pan pepperoni to us.
Posted by Jean-Marc Toussaint (Member # 270) on November 30, 2009, 06:16 AM:
I screened the feature for Halloween and it seems to me, looking at the "acting" and listening to the dialogues, that the director was clearly in to make something quirky rather than horrifying. That kind of wink-wink-nudge-nudge sensation is quite present in his other films (Blue Sunshine, Remote Control, Just before Dawn, even Neverending Story III).
Posted by Mark Williams (Member # 794) on November 30, 2009, 01:10 PM:
Whoops!!! Yes I did mean to say THE INCREDIBLE MELTING PIZZA MAN!!!
Posted by John Clancy (Member # 49) on December 01, 2009, 03:44 AM:
It occurred to me last night that the title we used to refer to 'The Incredible Melting Man' was actually 'The Incredible Walking Pizza' which is somewhat more appropriate. I never could understand why he ended up going on the rampage and managed to horrify everyone who saw him.
Posted by Marshall Crist (Member # 1312) on December 01, 2009, 03:49 AM:
You see, he needed human cells to live on. People were afraid because he looked hideous and intended to eat them.
Posted by John Clancy (Member # 49) on December 02, 2009, 01:51 AM:
It all makes perfect sense now Marshall. Somehow all that seemed to be missing from the 400ft reel... or perhaps I was too busy laughing to notice!

I just bought this title, 400", hopefully it'll come this weekend!
