Regular 8mm or super 8mm? You have to start with some kind of master. Either 35mm or 16mm, either print or interpositive. It seems that most super 8mm comes from prints. But it must be then made into a 16mm negative. From this neg. super 8mm prints are made,usually 2. Since there is no more pre-stripe you would have to have it mag striped. A sound track is done seperately for transfer. 16mm negative stock is not cheap. For a 400 foot super 8mm release the negative including stock and developing is about 400. The mag transfer is about $200. But this is actually cheap because I can do my own 16mm negative. If a regular lab would do it would cost around $1000. Then there is the super 8mm prints. Additional cost.
