oh dear, are film enthusiasts that die hard ? It's a pity film gets discarded so easily, there are whole sections of Cleopatra that were just dumped because they had to make the film shorter and they have never been found. I suppose star wars would be interesting in it's original form but surely as real as possible is a nicer experience.

This guy also had the STAR WARS and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK digests transferred to video in what he calls "The Puggo Edition." His website is here
I don't do torrents but found a video trader who supplied me with a disc of it which is sort of what got me back into film collecting a couple of years ago. After much positive feedback, he went on to a bigger project called Puggo GRANDE which was a beautifully telecined DVD using two different 16mm scope prints of STAR WARS. His preservation efforts are much appreciated by STAR WARS fans who don't happen to be film collectors (or simply can't afford to be.)

workprinter frame by frame resulting 20 mb for 5 second only show:

Years ago I bought the Kenner Six Million Dollar Man cartridges and pulled the films out and spliced them onto a 100' reel.To the best of my knowledge I still have that reel in storage.The quality of the films were pretty rough but it was fun putting it together.
