So that's why it's called CineSea!

Gary Crawford, Shorty Caruso, Harold Doebel, Lou Franchetti, Gary Sloan (hiding), John Black, John Capazzo, Tom Stathes, Brad Kimball and daughter Gillian.

From 8mm to 35mm!

Tom Stathes' table had some incredible films.

Lou F. always bring great films and tons of Three Stooges shorts!

Who needs a projector?

Claus Harding takes a pic of talented violinist/film collector Ted Wilby, who kindly entertained us all.

The Sea Theater started as a Nickleodeon 95 years ago, just a little older than some of the prints that would be screened tonight.

Dino Everette sets up for his 9.5mm silent film showing. This was the highlight of the weekend as Dino put on a great show.

9.5mm next to 35mm in the booth!

Reverse angle.

The Specto's 300 watt bulb and 1.6 lens gave a surprisingly sharp and bright image in the theater.

Back at the Ocean Holiday Resort for an all-night screening, Dino was kind enough to show more great looking 9.5 prints.

A beautifully sharp print of Metropolis.

Excellent photos everyone, it sounds like its going to be a regular event. I even saw a New Zealand " and it looks like" a travel film in that pile [Cool]

Looks great. Funnily enough, the first photo above looks just like a part of the coast at the southern end of Blackpool - another major conhvention coming up!

We screened Larry Arpin's terrific new scope trailer reel. It felt great to say "Here's a brand new Super 8MM release!"

The Sea Theatre is a one-of-a-kind experience in itself. The fact that it still survives is worth a trip on its own:

The Aztec motel was the "overflow" facility this time, and you couldn't ask for a friendlier, better-run place.
Here is the "free barbecue/free beer/free music" bash that was taking place at the pool when I arrived...

So there you have it. Cinesea 3.

But folks, here is a bit of "tough love" from me.
PUT THE WEEK-END ASIDE FOR THE NEXT ONE, STARTING NOW.
It isn't enough that you say you will come. You have to actually be there.

Dino flew in on his own dime from California, paying a fair amount in luggage fees to transport his 9.5mm projector and films for us to see.
I cancelled work to be there.

If you have a wedding or other "immovable object" of course that can't be changed, but barring that, find a way to get up here in April 2011.

Never mind about EBay for one week-end.

Be unreasonable with your Significant Other. Say "This is My Week-end and I am going!"
If they want to come, more the better.
If we don't have the people, we don't have a show.

If this were the 60es or 70es, you could have more of a "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude since shows were plentiful. Cinesea is unique in 2010. It stays alive only with your participation.
