Hello
I have a Sankyo made B&H DCM Super 8 sound projector and the lens has some furring on the inside (at the film gate end of the lens).
Looking at the end cap of the lens barrel (which is steel) there are two small holes. I think if I mad a two pronged tool, I might be able to unscrew the end to clean the inside of the end lens.
Does anyone have experience of this?
Cheers,
Mark

If you search for a 'lens wrench' on eBay you'll find a suitable tool.

I suggest you try to replace the lens with another clear one.
Despite my numerous attempts to clean cloudy lenses, none of which was successful.
I now replace all lenses that arent crystal clear. The time you can waste trying to clean them is not worth it.
Zoom Lenses are especially difficult to clean & then reassemble correctly. Unless you know of a specialist lens person, dont take them apart because they will often be even worse after you have finished the job.

I took apart my Schneider 1.1 lens when I saw the furriness you talked about. I then used some cold cream to clean it and voila! its been over 3 years or so and its still clear.
I was told by those in the know that there was a 50/50 chance that the fungus might grow back but so far so good. With this hobby if you found another lens that was cheap may not be worth it to go through the hassle. Me? I HATE throwing things away. Especially a Schneider lens!
Good luck-
