Have just spoken to Mr. Wilts and he reports that he is getting on with compiling the film shows on Super 8, 16mm and 35mm - he's all fired up and working on them already!!! The three dealer areas look like they are going to be fully booked and very busy because there are a number of dealers interested who have never been before. Probably best to make contact early if you think you may require a table just in case.

Great news that John and so good to hear new people are coming to trade as well at these events. We also found an increase in new traders at the East Lancs event which is exciting for the Cine hobby and keeping things moving in the right direction.
Keep up the good work! [Cool]

And again, we have a similar event here called CINESEA at Wildwood NJ, courtesy of the ever-reliable John Black - Come May 6-7-8 - Let's exchange our ideas and patronize one another's shows - Cheers, Shorty

And lets not forget to re-morgage now while interest rates are still low to have money for all the events!

John - thanks for the update, it's great to hear that everything sounds so promising, and with 3 months still to go. Considering that dealer numbers at film events have been a cause for concern, I wondered if there are any indications why this is looking good. Do you think the location has helped?

I'm really looking forward to it. It's been too long since the last. I did miss the Oct convention last year.

......sounds very promising & a very decent successor to Ealing; looking fwd to getting at Ruislip on May 14th! Meantime, is it DEFINITE that there'll only be one BFCC per year--the May thing-- from now on,so no more October events?

Nothing definite Yanis. There is only one convention booked for this year as it is a change of venue and we've got to see how well things go before comitting to anything else.

Adrian, I think it is the fact that there hasn't been a convention for so long. Perhaps conventions have been taken for granted in the past as there has always been an event in the future at which to take a table. I don't think conventions are looked upon in that way any longer.

Thanks John, good to know it's still open for October as well-even if not for this year! How far is it from Ruislip tube stn-any idea?

Yanis - I've checked the tube situation, I'd say it's slightly over half a mile. I hope you can open this map with the venue indicated. If you click on the arrow below the bottom centre, you can see the tube station as well as the venue:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=508972&y=187845&z=0&sv=HA4+7QL&st=2&pc=HA4+7QL&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf

Having also checked an enclarged Google image, I can see that the smaller track that follows on straight from the north of the High Street, to the right of the pond, seems to reach the grounds of the Hall, so if you're walking, you don't have to follow a road round to the far side of it.
