Hey guys,
So, I recently picked this projector up and thought it might be an upgrade from my chinon 330mv.

I bought it for a good price, but knowing there was issues. Last night I got her out and projected a few films with sound and she did ok. She stutters on start-up, once she finds her groove she'll project at 18 or 24 puuurfect...but it she takes a few revs trying to find it. I'm pretty handy with a solder iron and I'm not scared diving in if I know what I'm looking for.

I mean this projector could work fine for someone watching home movies or light use. I want a workhorse to do screenings this summer and I got my chinon new dead stock. Literally never run.
still sealed in plastic wrap.

Would this Sankyo be worth the trouble to fix? Is it that big of upgrade from my chinon?

Any ideas where the problem would be and how to fix it?

If I sell it I will notify the buyer of the problems.

Thanks

Kirk

If the unit has not been run for a long time it may just work itself out. Or it may just need lubricating. A drop of sewing maching oil or 3 in one oil in the hubs may speed it up. Just a drop will do. Another thing it might need belts.

Good luck

Since video has gone, can you more detail what is the problem?

No, I believe Sankyo 500 and Chinon 330MV are at the same level/class

It says the video was removed by the user. He must have figured out the problem. It would be nice if members would let us know if they solved their problem.
