My recently purchased Eumig P8 projector works great except some films "flicker" during some point of viewing and I don't know what that is. You can still make out whats happening in the film but it has this skipping look. My super 8 projector does that with its films sometimes and I stop it, put it in rewind for a second and then it plays fine. Anyone know what this is, and how to make it run smoothly?

Hi, this isn't a solution but.....I have a similar problem with a Eumig Wien type P26, I cleaned the film path etc throughly too with similar results....

I have a Eumig P8 that does exactly the same thing. The difference is mine is only a display item on a shelf. I would suggest the cheapest solution is to get a different projector and would recommend a Eumig Mark S 810D or similar. The 'D' stands for dual gauge meaning it handles both Super 8 and regular/standard 8mm.

There is a 824 on EBay right now for $150.00. [Eek!] Here's the kink

.....so has it simply wornout and not fixable without replacement parts??

The P8 is such a worthless machine Clinton it's just not worth the expense of attempting a repair. Mine was purchased to run standard 8mm prints on but it was worn out so I just stuck it on the shelf as a sort of museum piece and spent a bit more on a better projector.
