Hi all,
Just recently at Ebay there were several listings of Tom & Jerry titles released by MGM/Cineavision in scope.
The respective titles were:
- Touche Pussy Cat,
- The Egg and Jerry,
- Blue Cat Blues,
- Tops With Pops,
- Southbound Duckling,
- Pet Peeves
I have purchased so many Tom & Jerry prints from MGM release
(USA) which mostly have faded. Only 1 reel I have on AGFA.
But these scope reels were new for me, so I placed my max bids to what I knew the T&J's market price for Derann release at UK dealers, i.e between GBP 11 to 12.
But I was outbid for all titles.
If they were Derann release I would have known that they would be on Agfa, hence color would be excellent. But since they were from Cineavision, any info about their color?
Did you ever find T&J released by Cineavison that have faded?
(ps: I knew for non T&J they faded, such as Ben Hur and Born Free)
Touche Pussy Cat,
The Egg and Jerry,
Blue Cat Blues,
Tops With Pops,
Southbound Duckling,
Pet Peeves
cheers,

Where do you get the cases?

Grant, I don`t own them. The pictures are taken from the original listing on Ebay.
But as far as I knew, all Cineavision releases have those kind of case. It is very sturdy case and the edge of the case has sort of frame resulting the cover does not easily to get scratched, keeping them to look shiny all the time.

Winbert. When I visited Phil at Classic Home Cinema he had a great print in stock of one of these titles. They do seem to be good quality and if looked after hold up well.
Happy Christmas.

These cineavision prints have tended to hold thier color, though I have ran into a few with just a little fade. They are onb eastman pre LPP stock, but it must have been better than average pre LPP. Cineavision also released two Droopy's ...
Millioniare Droopy
One Droopy Knight (very rare, "Millioniare" is far more common).
As well as a few original scope UPA production Magoo cartoons. I have have two of them ..., and the color is outstanding. Also, the print quality is excellent, extremely sharp. I believe they also released at least one Terrytoon scope release, a Hector Heathcoate cartoon, (terrible cartoon, don't bother, even in scope).

Who were they distributed by? The box has writing on it that specifies a NY company, but I can't make out the name. Were Cineavision titles available in the states? I've never seen them in any catalogs.

If I remember correctly, they came out of New York. Could Doug or someone else verify this?
