Hello,

How you repair a creased movie?

I'd like to know the answer to this too. My Bolex long ago folded about 3ft of film, several times over at, the opening credits of Intolerance. My Niles film copy of My Man Godfrey was shipped with several such folds and creases.

For now, I have carefully applied presstapes to the creased parts of film. I also left the magnetic strip uncovered. This works but maybe there is something better.

I don't know if this will work but it's what I would try. Soak it in Filmrenew to soften it up a bit and then press it between two pieces of glass for several days. Put some weight on the glass to help press the film flat. My guess is your success will depend on how bad the film was creased. The film may be stretched out of shape a bit at the crease and can't be repaired.
