I've been having a bit of trouble with my super-8 editor. It's a hand powered one, a mass produced model which has been rebranded many times.

Whenever I run film through it, I can see half of the current frame and half of the next frame. Is there any way to re-adjust this? I'm assuming that the gate is off centre, or something like that.

The model is AICO PE-444 (Similar to the SMC release). Many thanks!

Hi Benjamin,

There probably is a framing adjustment which will allow you to center the frames within the screen. If there are two knobs on the front panel, one will be for focus and the other will be for this.

Thanks for the reply!
I have one turning knob which is used for moving the film along (I can move the film back and forth with it). Moving it doesn't improve the image =/

This has been a problem for people without a manual before. Try pushing in and holding the small round knob in the front on the claw wheel (turning knob) while moving the film slowly with your other hand. A lot of 8mm editors have this same framing feature.
