When Derann first started making prints of "That's Entertainment!", were they struck on low-fade print stock? Or are there some prints with color fade on the used lists now?

Hi Joe,
I've seen quite a few faded prints of this title so they are about,Mark.

I got a print of this in the collection I just bought - no idea if it's low fade or not... Will have to remember to go check it..

I purchased my print from Derann more than 12 years ago. It still looks like new with zero fade.
That's Entertainment 3 is actually a much better print than TE1, with sharper definition and deeper color saturation.

Bought a print on 2 1200ft spools and the boxes with artwork. The print has been re recorded into stereo. From Barry Littlechild at Tadley Big Screen Time, some people will know him. Made him a offer and got this at a fair price. Print is very good and no real fade. Not sure of print origin.

Isn't that Ken Films also released this title at the end of 8mm era. If it is the case, then as usual, it can fade badly as Ken printed mostly on Eastman or Kodak SP.

Ive always been curious about this. Did Derann make re-prints of this title in their labs or is every print out there a Ken Films print?

Derann definitely printed copies for quite a while - they initially sold the reels separately as well the feature. I'm presuming they bought Ken's negative but I'm not completely sure.

I thought Derann had been given the 8mm distribution rights for the U.K. and Ken Films for the U.S.

That is my understanding. However, I have two features that were purchased in the U.S.A. upon their first release that were manufactured by Derann. Initially, prints were imported from the UK. Not sure if all M.G.M. features were printed in the UK though.

Thanks for that info Adrian. I see a number on sale of 4x600 instead of the ken box set of 8x400. Are these 4x600's Deranns releases or have the previous owner just spliced the reels together. Last time I checked my copy it had perfect colour (and mine is on 2x1200).

Lookinh at some old Derann catalouges this title was sold by Derann as 8 x 400ft availible all together or as individual parts, The colours on my odd reels are, fortunatly very good, not the most vivid but they dont seem to have any fade [Wink]

I cam remember in "Film For the Collector" magazine, that Derann
rerecorded the sound on the Red Fox releases as they were all
recorded with too much base and had to be "cleaned up" so
whether they printed them over here I don't know.
