70 years old cork wheel is the demise of all non working Bell and Howell filmo master here is how we resolved this problem and now have a new late 1930’s Bell and Howell.

Great job Gerry! I'm a little confused at what exactly you did to the rubber wheel to get it to work. quote:

Did you have to make the hole larger or smaller to fit the shaft? did you shave some of the rubber off? Where did you find that wheel and what was it actually intended for?

We used the original housing for the cork wheel. UN screwed the large screw holding the housing together (BIG FYI the screw is reverse thread and there are about a dozen small steel bearings do not loose these open in a box or something to catch the bearing when they fly out) removed the cork put it back together without anything in it.. Then we put the rubber grommet in by stretching it around the housing (Rubber wire grommets Found in auto parts stores) we shaved the edges of the grommet to fit the housing.
