Just found a Eumig 822 sounoMatic, super8, songle8, standard8 projector at a second hand store for $25.00.

new questions
Got the bulb working sanded the contacts and it worked. Now I have some questions.
There are two speeds 24 and 18 which is 8mm and which is super8
And where do you set the projector for 8mm and super 8mm the teeth are side by side.
and the big problem I can’t get it to track

Sweet so this is a good projector. I have some bell and howell projectors but this is my first Eumig.
Tell me all about it.
Are the holes in the back for speaker output.
what does the record feature do.
I do need a bulb 100W 12V

Did the bulb burn out on you or was it burnt out when you bought it? If it was burnt out when you bought it, get a bulb to test the machine and if it lights, then do some more cartwheels cause we enjoy the show! [Smile]

Bulb was burnt when I bought it. Unless there is a switch just for the light. I found some bulbs on line. Is this bulb carried at electronic stores? I will post it on my blog www.vintage8mm.blogspot.com when I get some pictures and some video…

Gerry,don't be pushing any buttons,especially red ones or you could wipe the sound on any film you might have loaded at the time.

You set the speed at 24fps for all sound film prints, and 18fps for most silent film prints or home movie films.
Do NOT move the speed selector while the projector mechanism is engaged and running. Only move the speed selctor when the motor is idling.
The large teeth sprockets are for regular/standard 8mm film.
The small teeth sprockets are for super 8 film.

Thanks all, I figured it out. Is has removable sprockets for super8 and reg 8
And a separate film guide for reg 8 and super 8 once I converted it over to reg 8 it works great. Now I need some super 8 sound movies.

about that "sanding the contacts" thing isnt it a spring that needs to be replaced? Eumigs have that "running too slow problem when they age and I knew a guy that used to replace a spring on the inside and it corrected the problem.

Kenneth, the 800 series Eumigs have the speed "wheel" that gets some smooth spots and some members have found that making the wheel slightly rough again will help regulate the speed.... [Smile]
