Hi...I am new to the forum although I have poked around here for a long time. What a great collection of people and information!
I am looking for suggestions on buying manual rewinds for 8mm and Super 8mm. The only ones I seem to find were on Javaphoto.com and were over $200. Anyone know where I can find a set of inexpensive ones that will work ok?
Thanks!

hi mack welcome to the forum your best bet is to obtain elmo rewinds for s/8 these will accomadate reels up to 1200' as far as rewinds for 8mm if you can get one that has heads that are interchangable for 16/8mm? or simply use a editor for rewinds. I have never seen a elmo 8mm rewinds but could be wrong, maybe someone on here has seen a set.

I bought a cheap machine (around $30) and took out all the gears toward playing. With those gears are out making rewinding to becomes so light and fast. So it is basically rewinding machine only.
Is it a good idea?

Yes, the machine appears on my youtube showing it is rewinding film from Technicolor cartridge to a normal reel.
