It's the first time I write in the forum. Congratulations on your spirit to share their knowledge and experiences
I am in search of Elmo, Honeywell Elmo Projector Filmatic A & C Service & Repair Manual. I found it on ebay, but the seller does not send it to my country (Mexico). I anticipate my thanks for your help.

Welcome to the Forum Antonio. The Elmo Filmatic is not the same projector as the Elmo FP Series. This manual has the parts schematics for the FP-C.

Thank you for your prompt attention. The manual suggests to me is just a parts list of the Projector. I need the service manual and maintenance, the projector that I have is giving me problems and I need to be identified and the fault can be corrected Anyway thank you very much for your attention.

Yes...that manual doesn't have servicing info...but it does have exploded parts views which could be helpful. What specific problem are you having?

Thanks for listening. He commented:
The seller manual recommends that you do not send me to Mexico. The problems I have with the projector are:
The film gets stuck in the bottom and is stuck button to select to run single movie 8.
I think it needs a good cleaning and lubrication, so I require the manual.
I'll take a photo to illustrate how the film gets stuck.

If the buttons to switch the film gauge do not press in they are not stuck. You need to turn the knob on the side of the projector to loosen and they will push in easily. See photos.

1. Push away top and bottom plastic sprocket guides.
2. Push the bottom (black)button for Standard 8mm or the top (red)button for Super/Single 8mm.
3. If the buttons are hard to push in...turn the knob on the right side of the projector.
4. Then push the appropriate guage button and return the sprocket guides back in place.

Thanks for your advice. It solved the problem to select the type of film, following your recommendation.
In a previous post I commented that the film got stuck and did in the above area in Photo 1. But now the automatic threading does as you can see in picture 2. I know very little about the mechanics of these devices, but I think your advice I will solve my problems.

Antonio it looks like the top plastic sprocket guide is still raised...both the top and the bottom guies need to be pushed down against the sprocket for it to thread properly.

You were right, and the problem was corrected. Much I appreciate your cooperation.
Now I just want to give it a good cleaning, I'll do it with a brush and follow the instructions in the user manual to lubricate it, if you have any recommendations for this I'd appreciate a lot.

Hi Janice Glesser,

I am new to the scene of 8mm projectors. I am a highschool student but am interested in preserving history as well as mechanical and electrical engineering. As a result of these interests, I picked up an Elmo FP-A projector a few days ago that is in remarkably good shape, but when I tried it out I found that the lamp is in good condition but is not receiving any power. I want to restore this projector to original operating condition, But due to my plans for the future and current financial situation, I don't have a lot money to spend on this projector although it is in great shape otherwise and I would hate to have my mom throw it in the trash because I can't get it working. If you or anyone has a schematic for this model I could get for free or any advice that would help me fix it, I would be very grateful.

Hi John..Welcome to the forum! I don't have a service manual for the FP Series. If you need the owner's manual...I can send you that. I'm not much help on electrical issues, but others on this forum are. However I have done lamp convertion on my machine so it now uses a halogen bulb. How did you determine that power wasn't going to the lamp and that the lamp is not bad? Is there no power coming through the transformer? Is there power going into the transformer?

Those lamps are very expensive...they cost almost as much as the projector. However, I like the FP-A and if you can isolate the problem hopefully someone here can help you fix it. PM me with your email address if you need the owners manual.

When I got this projector, I found that everything seems to work as it should except for the lamp. I have not tested the transformer to see if it is getting or sending power, but that sounds like a good place to check. What I have done is used a multimeter to test the voltage entering the two connection prongs and found that there is no power to the lamp. I also used the multimeter on a continuity setting and found that the bulb is continuous, meaning the filament is not broken. I have never seen the bulb turned on but because of this test I think it is still good. I also tested the switch controlling the lamp and that is good too. You mentioned having converted to a halogen bulb. Would I be able to get some information from you on how to do this? If the bulb would ever go out or I can't get it fixed internally I may be able to route another power source in to power a halogen bulb.

I think a service/technical manual would also be helpful to fix this projector. I may be able to see where a potential problem could be without taking the whole thing apart.
