Can anyone kindly help to clarify something about this title. I believe the 18 minute BTF film about Blackpool called 'Holiday' was released full length on Super 8. I know Derann later released an edited version (which I have) on a 200' reel. But I have seen a 2 x 400' 'Holiday' offered, so I wonder if this is the same film, as I'd expect the full length BTF film to fit on one 400'?

Hi Adrian. My Holiday is on a 400ft reel and excellent. The Derann quality is the best but cut to the DCR release which I guess they got hold of the negative. Holiday and Lancashire cost are amongst the two most sought after super 8 BTF docs in the UK I would estimate although many have now upgraded to 16mm prints which are superb. I have a Barry Wiles Films copy which is very good and the colour is still fine as well. Hope this helps..

Thanks for that Lee. I also saw Holiday as a 400ft on a dealers list but didnt know DCR released it (It was already sold when I enquired). I too have the 200ft Derann version along with Lancashire Coast. Its interesting to note that on LC some areas are a bit blue but the BTF DVD of the same title is the same.

Thanks, Lee. Derann certainly did re-release some DCR railway films; I currently have almost identical DCR and Derann prints of the BTF film 'Overture 125' so it's perhaps surprising that they edited 'Holiday', if they had DCR's master. But it wasn't the only BTF film that they produced an edited version of - another example is 'Train Time', although that was originally a Barry Wiles release.
