Adrian Winchester's recent comment that Walton once issued Glamour had me delving very deeply into my archives for the Walton Glamour supplement (no date) which lists 33 short titles, one described as the first ONE-REEL Glamour Film, and "Great News for 16mm Sound Projector Owners! "Miss Bikini" 9 minutes at 24fps, priced £7.10s.

The main titles were available in Kodachrome colour and black & white on 8mm, 9.5mm, 16mm. Prices in colour 16mm 100' £6.10s, 9.5mm 100' £6.0s, 8mm 50' £3.6s. Prices in b/w 16mm 100' 37/6, 9.5mm 30/-, 8mm 50' 22/6.

Sample titles:-

Bikini Bathing Beauties
Bikini-Girl World Contest
Beauty Brevities
Girlnastics
The Sun-Worshipper
At Home With Sabrina
Good-Night With Sabrina

And many others with similar titles. Remember Sabrina? She was on Arthur Askey's BBC television show, I don't think she ever spoke, but she didn't need to!!!!!!!!!!

The one-reel special was "Ants In Her Pants" 10 minutes silent. Kodachrome 16mm 250' £16, 9.5mm 250' £15, 8mm 125' £9. Prices in b/w, 16mm £5, 9.5mm £4, 8mm £3.

Oh, for those happy and innocent days.

I have a particular affection for the 'tasteful with no nudity' approach to glamour so if anyone has a print (on 8 or 16) of 'Girlnastics' or some of the other titles mentioned that they would be willing to sell, please let me know. Some of the bikinis in Walton films are quite revealing, though!

Maurice - any chance you might be able to scan the whole supplement? I'm sure it would be interesting reading for fans.

I think one of the Sabrina shorts is available online. Very narrow waist. These films will be tame by todays standards; any idea what the Harrison Marks films are like?

As a boy I used to like looking at those What the Butler saw Machines.

I believe the list dates from the late 50s or early 60's, certainly long before Super 8.

I'm sorry that I can't scan the list but I can enter all the titles if anyone is interested.

No doubt all the films were thrown out years ago after their owners scratched them to death.

Sabrina's narrow waist? Male viewers never got that far!

Especially for you Maurice. You'll need a cold shower after this. [Smile]

Harrison Marks was another producer of a lot of 8mm glamour films in the UK in the 1960's. I remember seeing them for sale in a London shop.

The Walton films were often very funny and not at all offensive the most common being ‘Teasy on the eyes’ which Walton also issued on 9.5mm film. A comical film and worth looking out for.
