Hello there,

This is my first post to forum and I want to present my best wishes to all.

I am an Leica Rangefinder camera user sing 1995 and nowadays good processing ,fresh film availability , prices , scan quality turned horrible in Istanbul.

I bought my Leicina 8S from 60 or 62 and a Dygon 9mm f:2 lens to solve that. I want to use that camera as photograph camera.
Is it possible ?

Welcome Mustafa. I don't know for your camear but I remember an article I readed some years ago about the availability of double 8 stock. The autor of the article suggested (among other things) to use a double 8 camera as a still camera and, following illustrations the results were acceptable. However, I wonder if it is a good idea. First, you will have to make a lot of pictures before cou can process them. Then, at what cost (and for what kind of quality ?) will a lab print photos from a 8 mm stock (and that's if they have the machine, I would be surprised in Turkey). And finally, what if there is a problem with the film stock ? You will lloose hundreds of photos in once. I know that the filmstock is expensive but think twice before giving up filming. Souvenirs and pleasure are priceless.

You gave me an important idea. Is it possible to cut and use shorter 88 film in a camera ?

I am thinking to scan important positives and post to a forum.
I dont have intentions to get prints. My work will be bw and I think I can develop with pyro.

If you process (developp) it yourself, it would probably not a problem to cut the filmstock in smaller part. Of course, it should be done (like the loading of the camera) in the dark to avoid loss of stock. However it will probably be expensive in chemicals to process small parts each time. Anyway, I guess the only way to see if it works is to try.

Many cameras allow to ad a cable to shoot without having to press the normal button. This is to avoid any movment when the camera needs to remain steady (for example for a cartoon frame to frame shooting or to make an object or a personn appears or disappear). In most cases, the camera is then on a tripod. There are two kinds of cable, a mechanic one and an electric one, it depends on the model of the camera.
