I have an Bolex C8 with either film speed and viewfinder angle control knobs covered with transparent plastic. There is a steel 1 inch long metal thingy above the expose button but I dont know how to open it and insert the cable.

By the way I am still looking for a cable but I must be sure that this camera metal thingy operates as it might be.

Any help will be appreciated.

Slide the cover up to expose the cable release socket. Most standard threaded cable releases will work with it.
