I just finished this project. Thanks to Steve Clare for the scan of the ELMO logo. It's made from foam board. I even made a compartment for a take up reel. total cost of material...8.00 including the black tape and latch.

Good job Pat, but the logo is not like that, unfortunately.

How strong is the cardboard, btw.

I just have to find a latch for it now.
Probably you can use magnet or Velcro as they are easy to get installed.

What is form board?

I have something I bought from an art shop but it doesn't seem strong enough.

Does look nice.

Nice job Pat I did not no you are so talented! What's next a vinyl cover? Did Elmo ever make a vinyl cover for the ST-1200 series?
EIKI made a really nice vinyl cover for their 16mm projectors and I would love to have one for the Elmo ST-1200HD if one were available. I would be your first customer Pat if you ever make a vinyl cover.

Eiki had nice vinyl covers for their projectors. If I could sew I would give it a try. But I just may give it a go anyway. I'm thinking of the same material used for gas grill covers. Hmmm wheels are turning. [Confused]

David

Foam board is about 1/4" thick and used mainly for posters and grafts etc. It consist of a layer of thick paper then foam then paper again. It is very light. It's not strong like wood but remember this is more like a dust cover. Plus the weight of the Elmo is on the handle not the case.

Correct that is not the logo but the ELMO letters on the front of the case. Steve Clare took a photo of it so I could make it.

Got it. Had a look in "The Range" a diy store here in the UK. They sell form board large A1 sizes.

Also looking at my local supermarket and wondering if the advertising signs they use are the same.

Give it a go Pat you can do it! If you are successful I think a lot of the forum members would purchase one from you and I would be your first customer!

It would be nice to have a source of dust covers for projectors. Isn't it possible to "copy" some with a 3d printer ?
