I was just going through a list of Eumig projectors and saw this one listed, Eumig 850 Xenon Superlux, it's a 300w Xenon Super 8 only projector. I've never heard of it before, has anyone ever seen (or own) one.

I'd love to see this running, what a light output for a Eumig machine!

It looks very like an experimental prototype. As the Super8data website says, shown at Photokina in 1976 and certainly never marketed in the UK.

It might not be a real working projector, maybe just a mock up of a design that was never even prototyped.

you know, i seriously doubt if this machine was marketed at all. in various books this exact picture apears but never another so no one has some other pictures of it. but aside these speculations, The Eumig Museum has granted me a copy of their serial numbers list from 1955 all to the end and this projector is listed nowhere. so it may very well be a prototype. so if someone ever finds one we must all fight over it [Smile]

I see it is down as using a Marc 300 lamp. I wonder if it was a try -out conversion using a power supply from a 16mm machine. I used a B&H Marc 300 with separate power unit (which weighted about the same as the projector) for an amateur play in the the early 1980's.
