Hi, I have an opportunity to buy a SCHNEIDER WA Cinelux Anamorphic 2x MC lens for my Bauer T510 super 8 projector.
I checked the diameter of both lenses (projector & anamorphic)
& the anamorphic is approx 30mm bigger. My main concern is the projector lens is a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenovar f: 1.2 \ F: 15.5-28 mm and the anamorphic lens (according to super 8 wiki.com) is recommended for primary lenses of focal lengths 45mm up to 180mm & the projector ends at 28mm. Is this a problem when using the two lenses together. Any advice I would appreciate.

The reference to 45-180 mm is when used on a 35 mm projector.An 8mm projector lens of about 8-25mm is the equivalent (it's the ANGLE of view that counts), so should be fine.

I believe this is from the days of 35mm cinema use, and as such it may not be suitable as it will probably not focus far enough down to use in the home where a short distance from projector to screen is the norm.

My advice? Look for an anamorphic designed for 16mm/8mm projectors.

Isco & Schneider scope lenses are usually able to focus at a minimum throw of 5m. Some more recent Schneiders will be able to focus at 3m.
