I have just purchased a metal / stainless steel 1200ft reel for my elmo ST1200, when I tried to put the new reel on the arm it would not fit.. seems like the inner of the 1200 reel is to small for the outer of the spindle for the ST. It looks like the inner could be replace with a bigger hole to fit on the ST. Would I be right thinking this...and if so where would I get a new inner. Any info on this would be much appreciated.

I've had the same problem with some large metallic spools. The only solution I found was to use a file.
