A French association based in South France, on the occasion of the 50 th Anniversary of the super 8 celebrated worldwide this year, is preparing a film shooted in super 8. This film will be made of different parts (sketch film) made by different filmakers with as subject "creation in super 8. From what I understand from their website, this project is not open to everyone as the filmakers will be choosen among those who already work for the association (that use already super 8 but will give some special training lessons. This film will be projected in November, together with films "tournés-monté" (shooted/edited). This second part seem to be open to everyone. The principle of the "tournés/montés" films has already been explained here : you shoot your film and then it is projected without further editing. Actually, you discover your film the day of the projection as you have to give the festival organisators address to the lab. The project is obviousely dedicated to locals (the website is in French only) but it is always interesting to know what happens in our substandard gauge and, who knows ? , it can give some ideas to people in other parts in the world. http://www.regardindependant.com/
