Keith only emailed me the first draft programme yesterday. It was gone 6pm and had nothing to do with prompting from this site - just coincidence.
Still not looking good for moving the HTI projector as we have to start the long drive tomorrow and I can't move the darned thing! Any volunteers near Cornwall?

hi David. Keith wilton can be contacted on 02089971841. this number is given on his website.

Hello everyone
Initially I could not get the updated Next Event page to display properly until I cleared my internet browser cache - I can now see the program for the day's shows which look excellent with plenty of subject and guage variety (Super 8 / 16mm & 35mm).
I understand dealers trading there on the day will include Perrys, CHC, Buckingham & Rake Movies - any info on the others would be appreciated please.

Mark, if you book your transport tickets long time before and accept to sleep in a hostel, it is possible to save money. The only thing that will probably refrain us, the non UK resident, in the future is the fall of the euro which will make everything more expensive. And as we all know, London is not cheap (and when you come from abroad, you want to stay at least two or three days).
Posted by Adrian Winchester (Member # 248) on April 17, 2015, 03:36 AM:
See you there folks. Let's hope for mediocre weather (sunny days cause some people to be dragged out elsewhere with their families) and a big enough attendance to maximise the chances of a 64th!
Posted by Dominique De Bast (Member # 3798) on April 17, 2015, 03:53 AM:
I should be there tomorrow (if I don't miss the train this afternoon). As I said for the last 9.5 Get Together, if memebers of the forum recognize me, don't hesitate to say hello. Many British members didn't ad a picture on their profile, so I have no way to know who is who :-)
Posted by Maurizio Di Cintio (Member # 144) on April 17, 2015, 07:42 AM:
Don't worry, colleague! If I happen to spot you, I'll stop and exchange a few words (possibly many more) with you.
But perhaps a "Hello, I'm... " balloon attached to the shirt might help...
Posted by Dominique De Bast (Member # 3798) on April 17, 2015, 07:48 AM:
I should have done that, like Maurice did last time. It's time to go to the train station, so I hope my picture from the forum will be enough :-) My next post here will be when I will be back in Belgium as I won't connect in the UK.

To everyone whose off to Ealing,
Have a great day - sorry I won't be able to attend - I hope there will be one in 2016 as I will get to that one.
Enjoy yourselves,
David

Have a great BFCC and hope it is a success.
Thanks to Keith and his helpers for staging the event although because I'm wrapping up a funding bid for my village cinema I'm unable to attend and dead jealous of those who can
Have a fun day all!

I felt as if I had stepped back in time at the BFCC, there were new releases I had not seen before from Classic Home Cinema on show on the Giant screen.
After watching the very funny Mr Magoo cartoon release I found that I was too slow as by then they had all gone! Never mind as there was plenty else to spend my money on. As well as an excellent new print I came away with some very good quality used prints from the many dealers and bring and buy.
Hugely impressed by the the shows running in the big cinema all day, the giant screen comparable in size to many modern cinemas. How many times is that super 8 frame magnified? 16 and 35mm shows too! all very professional.
Many thanks to Kieth and all people involved for the big effort and the hard work put in for one very special day.
Posted by Dominique De Bast (Member # 3798) on April 19, 2015, 01:12 PM:
Another great day ! It started very badly because the Central Line of London's underground choosed this week-end to make some work. As a consequence, a section of the line which leads to the BFCC from downtown was not in use. I had to stop in the middle of the journey, take a bus to another tube station, only to discover that I had to take a second bus (not my mistake, I just followed the instructions...) to a third station where I could finally take a train to Ealing Broadway. That trip took me over two hours instead of the 30 expected minutes. I was rewarded by seeing known faces and meeting memebers of this forum I only knew from the net (among them, a Belgian member I met for the first time and that happened in London). There was a good choice of films and nice projection. The only black point was the empty tables of Buckingham films, which lead to concerns about Tony. I hope to be able to go to the next edition !
Posted by Mal Brake (Member # 14) on April 19, 2015, 02:32 PM:
The absence of Buckingham Films was a disappointment for quite a few collectors. I had a good time, the cinema shows were very good but even though I wore a name tag, only Adrian Winchester approached me. I didn't think I was so scary as to frighten fellow collectors away!!
Posted by Paul Adsett (Member # 25) on April 19, 2015, 02:41 PM:
Had I been able to be there Mal, and remembering your company at the Ruislip venue, I would have certainly sought you out for a chat. Best wishes my friend.
Posted by Mal Brake (Member # 14) on April 19, 2015, 02:53 PM:
Thanks Paul, I was hoping you had managed to sneak a visit this time as you did in Ealing a few years ago, but to no avail.
best wishes,
Mal

Posted by Dominique De Bast (Member # 3798) on April 20, 2015, 05:34 AM:
I took a picture with Nick and our two Italian members who attended the event but I'm not good in posting it on the forum :-) Next year, we should find a way to take a group picture of all the members of this forum.

This on behalf of my good friend Dominique and our other mutual friends from the forum Nick, Maurizio and Flavio...Fabulous photo guys!

I should say, I travelled all from Belgium to spend the weekend in the area, and it was totally worth it. The convention was really nice, I had a wonderful weekend. Thanks to the organizators and all other to spend some time together!

Hello everyone
I had a great day out at the BFCC - my special sincere thanks to Keith Wilton & John Clancy (and 'The Team of Helpers') who made this possible again.
I bought a mint 16mm print of Tex Avery's King Size Canary for my cartoon collection, plus what now seems like a lifetime supply of Xenon lamps from my favourite film dealer, so very pleased indeed with the day's purchases.
I particularly enjoyed the 35mm shows having started screening 35mm at home in the last year using a Spectra similar to Keith's.
Also seeing the excellent Super 8 Derann Capricorn One 'scope digest prompted me to watch my own print again this weekend it is so good.
Looking forward to the next BFCC already.

I just saw that video and I agree. Good show! One of these days, a little extra money ... one of these days!
Posted by Mal Brake (Member # 14) on April 22, 2015, 02:56 PM:
I appear in the opening shot, entering the scene from the right. Wearing a black top, grey trousers and sporting a white beard. Don't let that put you off, the rest of the video is great!

Gutted I couldn't go along,..
Great video, what the music track called, anyone?
Cheers.

Posted by Stuart Hilliker (Member # 737) on April 26, 2015, 09:34 AM:
Hi Rick
The music track is called "If I Had A Talking Picture Of You" sung by Bing Crosby.
I was struggling to find a track that worked & stumbled across it!
Pleased you enjoyed the video.
Best wishes
