How can I change the belt motor drive inside the zeis ikon movilux 8a 8mm projector if there is no way to to put the belt in the main pulley bar, because they are closes by two bearings in both ends.

Probably a bit late to answer Jose's question but I just figured out how to change the belt on my Movilux. I'll post the instructions here for future generations so they don't have to go thru what I did to figure it out.

You will need a screw driver and a good set of Allen wrenches. To open the back remove the two screws on the bottom of the projector. They hold both the spring clip for the front cover and a bracket for the rear cover. There is a shaft that runs the length of the projector, one end is connected to the pulley knob on the front and the other end is connected to the pulley knob on the back. With an Allen wrench remove the two pulley knobs. There are three items that the shaft is connected to inside the projector, the worm gear, the shutter blades and the drive pulley in the rear where the belt goes. You will need to loosen all three of the Allen nuts so they move freely on the shaft (See Photos below). It took a little force to move the part that holds the shutter blades but you will need to pull the shaft out towards the front of the projector until it gets to where you can slip the belt over the pulley in the back. Be careful not to damage the shutter wheel or the claw mechanism. Once you get it on the pulley push the shaft back into it's original position. Take the Allen nuts all the way out so you can see where they were seated on the shaft then carefully screw them back into the same location.

One problem I had when I got it all back together was the claw was not coming out far enough to move the film. I had to move the shutter wheel forward a little until I could see it coming out properly.

I purchased the belts from Van Eck Movilux 8A.
