This past weekend's Cinesea meeting of film collectors in Wildwood, New Jersey, was a wonderful event!!! Old friends plus a bunch of new attendees made it what I think is the biggest and best ever. At one time I saw 11 projectors going at once. Tons of things to see and buy....lots of collector talk...and just a fine time. Thanks to Doug and Lou for putting on another spectacular Cinesea. Hope to see everyone at the next Cinesea in late April!!!!

This was a great one!
CineSea has this interesting momentum to it: it's kind of quiet at first, it may actually be possible to be there too early, yet one by one people show up, somebody lights up that first screen and it all begins once again!
I came home a couple of nice prints, which I still haven't watched yet, enjoyed a lot of great conversation and had some great meals too!
I actually fixed a personal regret this time. When I turned fifty, we went to the local theater to see a movie. The owner was standing there talking to the people in line, and I almost asked for a tour of the booth in honor of me reaching the top of the hill!
...yet I didn't!
Sunday after the end of ceremonies we went over to the Sea Theater and Joe Griesbach ran a show for us! I really didn't feel like turning fifty again, but at least I got my booth tour!
Being that Monday was Columbus day, we stayed over and went down to Cape May for a while. A side effect is we got to experience the Ocean Holiday after CineSea has called it a day for six months.
If you ever wonder what it looks like four hours later:
-kind of anti-climactic, don't you think?!

Think I see an empty reel somewhere - It was great seeing you and family again - My love always, Shorty

Sounds like a great time!!
Are there any pics of the actual event itself? All I've seen so far are pics of a car parking and a hotel
I want to see the inside goods, or do I need to hide inside a cake and pop out inside to see this lodge meeting - he hee.
Cheers,
Matt

There are many, many pictures coming.
Claus was never without his camera and always does a really nice photo essay. (Because of this I always get a haircut a few days in advance: with the ocean breezes it's easy to show up in the pictures with a hairdo Albert Einstein would be ashamed of if I don't!)
-unfortunately we are still at the stage where we are building suspense!
In all seriousness, I really don't like putting a lot of my own pictures up at this stage: I'll let Claus tell the story the way he intended even as he was taking his pictures.
-yet you can bet I'll be ready to show our visit to the Sea Theater when he is done.

Outstanding CineSea this time, the vibe was wonderful and so was the weather.
I am working on pics, so they'll be there shortly :-)

Absolutely fabulous write up there by Steve!
You really get a sense of the entire atmospherics surrounding these events from Steve's wonderful descriptive writing talents!
This is the one event each year that I really look forward to both seeing the photographs taken and reading the write ups written.
You guys sew it all up perfectly. Good rapport, great food, friendly knowledgeable conversation and most of all ...relaxed atmosphere!
This is exactly how these things should be conducted and more to the point, celebrated in 2015.
Well done once again, and to "Shorty".. dream come true one day, hopefully!!
