hello, can someone give me heads up on a decent cine camera(standard 8) Been looking on ebay at Sekonic dualmatic zoom 8 simplomat. Bell and Howell 605, Bolex and Paillard P3 and one with 2 lens turret B8 i think it is called.

Definitely go for a Bolex B8. No battery needed (old types often not available.) Twin lenses on a turret. Swiss precision.

Paul Also look over the Carena Zoomex which gave stunning results and nice to hold, also the Bolex K2 was nice as well. [Smile]

Thanks Maurice. Do you have one of these cameras/ I noticed on the info from the link you provided it runs at various speeds but not at 18 fps its either 16 or 24. if I wanted to transfer later to digital should I run the speed at 16 or 24. Or does it not make any difference to the ability to transfer to digital. One of my my projectors does have a variable speed control. PS where you ever able to make the cable terminal for the Bolex pail lard 18/5. A year or so ago you were interested in the way I replaced my missing lead.

I have the three lens D8L which I inherited from a deceased friend.
If you need 18fps the B-8L also has this speed included.

Look out for the "Bolex-8 Guide" a 120 page very helpful book which was published by The Focal Press in the fifties and sixties. My copy, the fifth edition of July 1966 has a price of 12s.6d.
The Bolex projector defeated me and was passed to a friend for spares.
