While I filmed a trip in Super8 in 2010, it didn't make it. I did however try again on Regular 8mm last May for a trip to Winnipeg! I made a video about it.

I did 1 colour reel plus 3 B&W, when I get the whole digital transfer thing going i'll upload a quality version to share!

Very excited. Also got a new Keystone K109 coming in (couldn't live without it anymore) and while it's seen itself through my Keystone K110 a few times, before I share it with my family I want to do it with a little more class...!

Though in the video I actually use a Bell & Howell built right here in Toronto. The video has some baby stuff in it (loading a reel, etc.) as far as you guys here are concerned, but it is my first attempt into a hobby I hope to pursue in the years to come.

Jesse, I liked your video, good job! You will like the Keystone K109, it's a very well built projector, plus that bulbs cost a fraction of what the Bell & Howell bulbs are. I don't own the K109 anymore, replaced it with a very nice K109D. What camera did you use to shoot the Regular 8mm?

I shot the colour on a Yashica U cds.
I shot the B&W on a Canon Cine 8!

The B&W is longer, more detailed, and more interesting - and I'm eager to share that too!

I also have a Fujica 8 T3, and a Bolex C8.

The Canon Cine 8 looks like a nice camera, I've never used one but I'm sure the lenses are good quality coming from Canon. I prefer the Bolex cameras, great lenses, easy to fix/lubricate and very reliable. I have almost every Bolex model made in 8mm. I look forward to seeing your other footage.

I love projecting home made 8mm film. When I develop a roll I always walk into the sunlight and then hold it up to the light to see the first image. I got into Super 8 film collecting through shooting it. Great post!
I use a Leicina Special for Super 8 and a Canon 518SV for the Single 8.
I use to have the Beaulieu 6008 MD Digital with the Angenieux lens but it was not so good for "Run and Gun" shooting. Then I had a Canon 814 XLS which was great too but a little larger than I had hoped, a Nizo 6008 which was Super quiet, and then finally ended with the Leicina. The best of the bunch IMHO.
