Hello,
Are there any experts who I could pay to re-record a soundtrack on Super 8 if I should need it?

From my understanding Adam Deierling on the forum offers this service. I have personally never used his service but viewed a video he did for Zombie AKA Dawn of the Dead from German to English and it looked fantastic!

I was always of the understanding Lance was the US expert in this field?

I believe I have come across Lance's name while exploring this forum as well. I'm sure you know better than me Andrew.
Would you happen to have his contact information? It would be a great resource to keep on file =D

Lance re-recorded a few films for me and they all sounded really, really great. Better than I could do with my GS. I think he calibrates his machine to the stripe used to get the best frequency response possible. His re-record of "Titanic" is one of the best sounding prints in my collection. Well worth what he charges.

I also recommend Lance Alspaugh; good work, fast, and reasonable. He will rerecord features only. Adam has offered to rerecord digests, but of course that is more expensive considering the amount of effort he has to do on sound editing.

I have the Hitchcock feature THE PARADINE CASE on super 8 and reel 2 was out of sync and Lance re-recorded the entire feature for me and it sounds great now!
He is highly recommended!

Excellent. Thanks all of you for the information and feedback.

Daniel, while I also think highly of Lance's reputation, I'm curious what it is you want to get recorded. I have a small library of rerecord masters.

Lance's work is that of a perfectionist. He adjusts bias and equalization after analyzing the nature of the sound stripe. The result is incredible with sound you would not think could come from those two little magnetic stripes.
Posted by Osi Osgood (Member # 424) on February 10, 2016, 11:29 AM:
Alan is correct, Lance takes each stripe (wither brown/black ect), as each stripe has a slightly different range to the sound it produces, and he then either raises or lowers EQ levels to belt out the sound at it's best.
I highly recommend Lance!

Lance it is then!

Hi Bill,
. I'm not needing that done right now. I was going to buy an Italian dubbed print of Captain Blood, but I'm holding off right now. I will keep everyone in mind who can do those services.
