Steve Osbourne has come up with yet another great read in his "Reel Images" magazine, and I'm betting that they will even go up in greater quality, as he is now retired from his main job and can invest full time in his super 8 business!!!
Long live Reel Images and long live Steve Osbourne and his fam!!

with or without my contributions, a great read!!
BTW Steve does accept overseas subscriptions, just in case anybody was interested.

Just got my copy which Steve included in a lamp order I had placed with him. He also threw in a surprise gift - a 400ft reel of The Mummy's Tomb.
The thing I like about dealing with Steve is that he makes it so easy. I call him up with my order, leaving a message if he is not there, and a couple of days later a package arrives with an invoice. No hassle with Pay Pal or credit cards, I just send him a check on receipt of the order.
It's the kind of trusting business transaction from decades ago, which has all but disappeared from today's world.

You have to shift emotional gears a little bit with Steve Osborne. He deals with you as a friend from the start and there is a definite level of trust you might not be ready for right away.
A couple of years ago my wife bought me a couple of films for Christmas and she wasn't attuned to Steve's rhythms yet. She called him on the phone and they talked for an hour about films, about CineSea, and about just stuff! (Thank God for unlimited long distance!).
-then she understood!
Think less Walmart and more the guy at the hardware store on Main Street whose kid you went to high school with!
He's nice to you: you return the favor!

Just to clarify, has the Spring/Summer '16 issue been published and sent out?
Posted by Douglas Meltzer (Member # 28) on May 13, 2016, 06:18 PM:
Jason,
The Reel Image #37, spring/summer issue has just arrived!
In addition to Osi's & Steve's articles, Lee Mannering writes about his fondness for Eumigs, Guy Taylor has a piece on Cinevent and Lance Alspaugh describes showing the new Star Wars release on film in his Los Angeles Vista Theatre. It's nice to see so many Forum members contributing to the magazine. There's even a picture of Shorty!

Steve is a good friend and I am very fortunate that he is close by (3 hours away)
My dad and I go to Steve's indoor and outdoor shows every year and it's a blast...like a mini Cinesea! John Hourigan actually came from Colorado to see my 16mm print of Hitchcock's TOPAZ that Steve screened at one of the outdoor shows!
It's nice to see the forum members in the magazine. I have contributed some to the magazine but I am not a very good writer and it is hard for me to put an article together....so it involves labor for me!!!

Those of you living in the UK might take note that Phil Sheard at Classic Home Cinema is an agent for The Reel Image magazine. You can subscribe with him. The price is 12 Pounds Sterling.

Steve is a great guy and as others here have stated, one of the best to do business with. His love of film (and enthusiasm for all things celluloid) is unmatched.

Steve (and Natalie too!) are a class act and wonderfully friendly, kind, and helpful people.
Those handwritten envelopes!!! They're always welcome in our mailbox.

It's always nice to see the REEL IMAGE logo on a package or envelope on the porch!
There are times I will order something he does not have yet or something that is on my want list will show up well after I put it there and I'll get a package and think...I didn't order anything....then it's like a kid at Christmas opening up the package.

I just received my copy of The Reel Image! It looks like it takes at least a week longer if you live over in Asia.

Well, at least there wasn't a used film list in there, as all the tasty tidbits might have been gone by the time you got it, jason. Hey, you might want to let Steve know how long it takes to get there so that, perhaps, Steve might be willing to mail you off the used film lists ahead of time when first ready, so you might have an even chance with the rest of us to get those tasty reels! Steve is very reasonable and Ai wouldn't be surprised if he would.
... and i back up everything everyone had said. There are not enuf words to express Steve drive and dedication when it comes to cine!!! Rock On Steve!!!!

Steve is really great, I have been getting films and supplies from him for a long time, I think my 1st order was about 20 years ago. I even have some of the early Coming Attractions (Reel Image) mags, that was when I was in grade school. The late 1980s or early 1990s. The new Reel Image came out about 2 weeks ago.

...and I still have to write more articles, Shorty

Lucky man to be so close Bill!
I second, third and fourth all those warm compliments from everyone! I know of no other film seller, in the world, that actually will, upon request, ship the film to someone, even a first time customer, without payment first! I mean, WHO DOES THAT anymore?!!!
Steve is a grand fellow, who goes out of his way for the hobby, and since his regular career ended, he now has this as his full time "career".
May his bulbs shien bright for many years to come!!!!
Andrew, Steve WILL mail his "Reel-Image" magazine to you fine lads in the UK!
