Hi all, my new arrival GS1200 has the serial number 821824, could anyone tell me the approx manufacturing year and version? Thanks!

Stuart
I may be wrong with my comments, but, it is generally considered that the Elmo GS-1200 was manufactured between 1978 and 1986.
Serial numbers started at 820001 and up to 832151.
#831250 is 1985.
Therefore, your projector is a series I from 1978 or 1979.

Hi Stuart I`m not sure on the numbers but I think version 1 and 2 have dots on the volume controls and the version 3 a little line.
Also in the version 3 the loop goes back under the gate, and 1 and 2 it goes forward. I think !!!
You maybe know all of this anyway.
Have fun.
Best Mark.
PS sorry I was a bit late with that, the internet is on and off !!!

Is there any physical differences good/bad with version 1-2-3?

Maurice. I was interested in your replies about serial numbers on the GS1200 machines. My GS has the slits on the knobs, and the serial number 832458. So it seems to be a [3], and about 1986 in the making. I did not have it long before they stopped been advertised, and to date still runs like new. Great machine, but I often wondered what year it was made.
John
