Since I was scanning away today, I figured it's time to have another cover art quiz!

These are details of the artwork from 4 different cutdowns. See if you can identify which releases these are from. Best of luck!

I'll take a wild guess and say "Ben Hur" for the last one.

The man from Galveston is correct. A is a detail from the cover of the Republic Pictures 200' silent cutdown of High Noon.

Good guess James, however D is not from Ben Hur.

Well, I instantly recognize B,,, my very first 8mm film! I Was A Teenage Frankenstein...
I only had enough money saved for one film, and I had to choose between this and The Creature Walks Among Us, I chose this one because I thought the larger Ken Films box had a longer reel of film. Wrong!, they were both 50 footers...

B is indeed Joe's first film....Ken Films' I Was a Teenage Frankenstein. The cover art here has no relation to the film inside.

Hey Doug,
You are sneaky...because all of my Columbia War films came in the generic 50th anniversary digest print boxes. IF I had the later reprint boxes, I would guess that C is "Back from Eternity," "Bridge on the River Kwai," "Commandos Strike at Dawn," "The Guns of Navarone," or "Lost Command." (But the bylaws probably don't allow me this many guesses. LOL)

c was a neat cover and a tough one. I was surprised how many covers had someone with the same 'stance' as the pic you posted Doug...

It's been a while since I have watched these two Columbia digests, but I wouldn't be surprised if the narrator states "Then Buck meets the Preacher," and "The Command was shocked to realize that they were lost!!"

I am a Columbia Narrator Noob!

Since I've heard so much about him I actually requested somebody bring some examples of his best (or is that worst?) to CineSea, and Paul Suchy was nice enough to mail me one for the Saturday Night Show.

I'm still a Noob, and it must have been an internal groan for some of the people that have had enough of this guy!

I probably shouldn't do cover quizzes either: most of my prints don't have cover art!

-but, we all specialize some way or another. That's why it's good to hang out among other collectors and see things from different angles.
