I am new to the world of 8mm and Super 8. This my first posting. I recently bought 2 cameras at a thrift shop. The Kodak Brownie 8mm Model 2 and the Nizo 561 Macro Super 8. Both are in excellent condition. I ordered film for both of them this week. I have been researching projectors and have narrowed down my choices to 2 models from Elmo. They are the HP-A and the HP-C. Does anyone have any experience with any of these 2 projectors? I'm not sure what the difference is between them. I plan to transfer my videos to digital, and I think these will work well due to the variable speed feature. I like the compactness of them too.

Jaime
I think you may mean the FP-A and the FP-C. They are both dual gauge.
They appear to be very similar, the former was introduced in 1965, and the latter model a year later.
Be aware that nether model can be un-threaded manually.

Yes. You're right. I misspelled it. Thank you. What is the advantage of having the manual option?

Jaime... I have had both of these models. The FP-A has a second socket next to the power socket to synchronize with an external tape recorder. The FP-C does not have this feature. Other than that they are pretty much identical.

The advantage of having a manual unload option is that you can remove a partially projected film should you wish.
With these two projectors (as with many auto-thread projectors) you will have to run a film to its end when it exits the projector.
